Chuck’s heart sank, seeing the expression on the pie makers face. “I’m sorry, were you expecting someone else?”
The door pressed against his shoulder, keeping it so the shorter could see— an advantage of being this tall. Now he had to think fast, he couldn’t have her spoil the… what he was hiding. “No. Yes… sorta?” His head tilted slightly before he turned a bit to look back inside the room. He seemed nervous, and a bit surprsed, but why should he be surprised? It was normal for Chuck to come over, especially if he was home. “I’m a little busy but, if you wait just a moment…” And with that he sank back in the apartment, closing the door so he could rush around and clean up what mess of a surprise he was working on for Chuck.
"I don’t want to speak too soon but I’m pretty sure it can always get worse— let’s just hope it wont!"
"I used to think that too. That it would be easier to just stay out of it, do myself a favor and stay alone for the rest of my life because it seems it’s the only thing that works most of the time. What was the point in getting your heart broken over and over again? I used to think— why do we let ourselves go that far, knowing the outcome might be bad. Why do we love? I realized we love because we can, and there’s always a point, good or bad, it teaches us to grow— maybe a little faster than we should, and a little prickly than before but in the end, when we find someone— it makes everything worth it."
"Would you really expect anything less?"
[ RE: ] Oh god, What did you find???
"Did you know it only takes one broken promise for the average person to not trust anyone for a very long time?"
